Alvaro Arbeloa Addresses Real Madrid Future – ‘I’m Not Worried About It At All’

Football

Alvaro Arbeloa, the manager of Real Madrid, has stated that he is not concerned about his future at the club beyond the current season. Although he is expected to remain in charge at the Santiago Bernabéu until the end of the season, it appears unlikely that Real Madrid will finish the season with any silverware, leading to the expectation that he will not continue next year.

Arbeloa’s team is currently nine points behind in La Liga, and has been eliminated from the Copa del Rey and the Champions League. The team has struggled to achieve results that would support his permanent candidacy. Speaking after the defeat to Bayern Munich, Arbeloa told Diario AS that he did not feel he had anything to prove.

“As I’ve said, since I’ve taken this role, it hasn’t been about proving my level as a coach. I’ve never aimed to win matches through my decisions, but rather by helping the players on the pitch. We’ve faced many strong teams, such as Kompany’s Bayern Munich, Guardiola’s City, and Simeone’s Atletico. I believe most teams in Europe bear the distinct mark of their coaches.”

“I’m not sure of the exact extent of my influence on this team, its percentage. It’s surely much smaller than the examples I’ve given or what Castilla might have had under my guidance. As I’ve previously stated, I’ve always tried to assist the club in any way I could. And that commitment will remain until my very last day.”

Real Madrid Future ‘Does Not Worry Me’

When asked if he felt he had presented sufficient arguments for his continued tenure during their Champions League clashes with Manchester City and Bayern Munich, he responded:

“It doesn’t worry me at all, and I will fully understand any decisions the club makes. I’ll comprehend them perfectly. As I’ve said, I am a man of the club, who always… well, if I am hurting today, it’s not for myself, but for Real Madrid. Because we won’t be winning the sixteenth title this year. My regret is for the players, as I mentioned earlier; for the club, and for the fans. And…”

“Not for myself. Because I am not at all concerned about my future. Since I’ve been in this position, I haven’t been worried in the slightest. And as I’ve said before, I feel I’ve done everything within my power to help my players achieve victory every day.”

‘It’s The Club’s Decision’ – Alvaro Arbeloa

Arbeloa declined to comment on his future plans, refraining from speculating on whether he would consider another managerial role or even accept an offer to continue at Real Madrid.

“Right now… (smiles), I’m not thinking about any of that. And, as I’ve said before, it’s the club’s decision, and I am a club man. My sole desire is for Real Madrid to win, regardless of who is on the bench.”

Since Arbeloa’s appointment, there has been speculation about his potential successor, with names like Mauricio Pochettino, Unai Emery, and Jurgen Klopp being linked to the position. This talk had subsided after a series of positive results but has since resurfaced, and there is no clear candidate to replace Arbeloa at present.
