Andy Diouf’s Burnley Transfer Deal in Jeopardy

Football News

It recently appeared that 22-year-old Andy Diouf was close to joining Burnley. However, reports from France suggest the transfer is now in jeopardy.

Initially, one source revealed that the France youth international was nearing a switch to the newly promoted Premier League club. Later reports indicated the player`s preference might be for Crystal Palace, a fellow Premier League side.

Despite this, Burnley (unlike Crystal Palace) had successfully agreed to an €18m transfer fee with Diouf`s current club, Lens. Combined with positive discussions with the player himself, Burnley felt confident of finalizing the transfer just a day prior.

However, that confidence has faded. Diouf has still not given his final approval for the move to Turf Moor. Burnley is reportedly unwilling to wait indefinitely and wants a swift resolution. This perceived ultimatum has not been well received by the player`s representatives, casting serious doubt on whether the deal will happen.
