Angolan international winger Chico Banza has officially completed his move from Portuguese Primeira Liga side Estrela da Amadora to Egyptian football powerhouse Zamalek SC.
The 27-year-old attacker has committed his future to the Cairo-based club, signing a contract that will keep him in Egypt for the next four seasons. Estrela da Amadora confirmed the agreement, specifying the move as a definitive, permanent transfer.
Banza`s tenure at Estrela da Amadora was relatively brief. He joined the club in January and featured prominently throughout the second half of their recent campaign. Prior to his move to the Amadora-based side, he had spent the first part of the season representing Portimonense, also in Portugal`s top tier.
This transatlantic switch represents a significant shift in Banza`s career trajectory. Moving from the competitive landscape of Portuguese football to the fervent atmosphere of the Egyptian Premier League presents a distinct challenge. It`s a strategic step for a player seeking new horizons – and perhaps a guaranteed spot under the African sun, a reliable perk.
