Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has declared that his team will be aiming for nothing less than a win in their upcoming Premier League showdown against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium. Arteta stated that the thought of setting up for a draw has not crossed his mind “for one second.”
The Gunners currently hold a six-point lead over Manchester City, though they have played one more match. A draw in this crucial encounter would substantially increase Arsenal’s probability of lifting the Premier League trophy. Projections from Opta suggest that a stalemate at the Etihad would give Arsenal an 89% chance of winning the title.
However, despite the statistical advantage a draw would provide, Arteta is committed to an attacking approach, viewing the trip to Manchester City as a “big opportunity” to secure a decisive victory and move closer to their long-sought-after title.
Notably, Bukayo Saka remains unavailable for Arsenal due to an Achilles problem.
