A banner reading “Lotito Free Lazio” was displayed near Piazza Montecitorio in Rome today. Sources close to Lazio president Claudio Lotito have commented on the demonstration, describing it as “an instrumental gesture intended solely to divert attention from evident management and institutional difficulties currently being faced by others.”
According to these sources, the incident is seen as “a clumsy attempt to hide failures in areas completely unrelated to Lazio, but which are currently in a critical state evident to everyone.” The sources, close to the Biancoceleste figurehead, added that “in the world of sport, there appears to be no longer any room for transparent and respectful dialogue. It is always those who take genuine responsibility, who put themselves on the line, and who work daily to ensure stability, adherence to rules, and a real prospect of growth who ultimately pay the price.”
The sources further stated that “the attempt to conflate different spheres – institutional and sporting – is indicative of a lack of substance.” They contrasted this with Lazio, described as “a concrete reality with a transparent corporate structure and a clear vision for the future. The Biancoceleste passion deserves respect, not superficial exploitation.” The statement concluded: “President Lotito will continue to work with dedication and resolve, as he always has, accepting the burden and the honor of every decision. He remains on the front line, never hiding.”
