A clearer picture of his availability for the match against ‘Los Pericos’ is expected on Friday. The current plan is for him to make an appearance in that game, gradually building towards a more significant role at the Metropolitano.

Gavi’s strong performance in the second half against Atletico highlighted his potential to be a crucial asset for Barcelona once more. For the Espanyol match, Marc Casado, Pedri, Eric Garcia, and Gavi are the main contenders for starting midfield roles in the derby. There will likely be consideration to rest Garcia and Pedri, both of whom have been instrumental players over the past month.
