Reports indicate RB Leipzig forward Benjamin Sesko is not planning to pressure his current club into facilitating a transfer to Arsenal this summer.
Arsenal have been keen to strengthen their attack after finishing as Premier League runners-up for the past two seasons. A lack of a consistently prolific striker has been identified as an area for improvement, and the club is looking at several options.
Among their targets are Sporting Lisbon`s sought-after striker Viktor Gyokeres and RB Leipzig`s 21-year-old Slovenian international Benjamin Sesko. Arsenal`s interest in Sesko is long-standing, with the club reportedly attempting to sign him previously.
The Gunners reportedly remain interested and are exploring the possibility of signing him this summer.
However, recent reports suggest the forward is not intending to force a departure from RB Leipzig.
It`s understood that Arsenal are currently unwilling to exceed a fee of around €70 million and may be prepared to wait to see how the situation develops.
With Sesko having four years left on his contract and apparently no desire to force a move, Arsenal`s negotiating position appears challenging.
While the new Premier League season doesn`t begin until August 17th for Arsenal, manager Mikel Arteta would ideally prefer to integrate key new signings into his squad and tactical system as early as possible during pre-season.
As rivals like Liverpool and Manchester City actively strengthen their squads this summer, the question remains whether Arsenal will continue to play a waiting game for their primary transfer targets.
