Bremen’s Felix Agu to remain in the Bundesliga despite Premier League interest

Bundesliga News

According to Sport Bild, Werder Bremen wingback Felix Agu is set to stay in the Bundesliga for the upcoming season. Despite attracting interest from several Premier League clubs, the 25-year-old will reportedly not activate the €10 million release clause in his current contract.

Agu had a strong start to the recently finished Bundesliga campaign, following several years of dealing with injury and form issues. The former German youth international scored his first league goal in three and a half years during the 2-2 opening day match against Augsburg.

He concluded the 2024/25 Bundesliga season with a career-high three goals, including a remarkable strike against Holstein Kiel on matchday 27.

Sport Bild`s brief report on social media platform X did not provide a reason why Agu chose not to let the release clause expire. It remains unclear if Agu`s decision to stay is connected to Bremen’s recent change in head coach.
