Another day of ongoing discussions and behind-the-scenes moves in the transfer market. Here are the key updates from June 24th.
Serie A & Italian Club Updates
Atalanta continues contacts for Sulemana. Talks are ongoing between Atalanta and Southampton regarding Kamaldeen Sulemana. The Bergamo club aims to secure the player for coach Ivan Juric, following the official arrival of Kossounou. While yesterday saw little significant progress, it`s possible Southampton might lower their demands in the coming days, potentially settling for around €17-18 million, down from their initial €25 million valuation. Atalanta is working towards reaching an agreement soon.
Ciro Immobile`s potential return to Serie A with Bologna is approaching. The Rossoblù club has initiated negotiations with the former Lazio striker`s representatives. However, a crucial step is the termination of Immobile`s contract with Besiktas, which runs until June 2026. Bologna reportedly offered a salary of approximately €2 million. Any difference could be covered by a severance payment from the Turkish club. This is a complex negotiation that needs resolution by July 1st; otherwise, the striker must return to Istanbul for training.
A new suitor emerges for Eldor Shomurodov. The Uzbek forward is expected to leave Roma and has attracted interest, particularly from abroad. Turkish club Basaksehir has been linked, but new interest from France has surfaced. The position of Roma and the nature of offers from Turkey and Ligue 1 will be crucial, but Shomurodov is likely to have a busy summer. Rennes is reported to have made contact with the capital club.
Torino explores a potential link with Sassuolo for targets. With Vanja Milinkovic Savic expected to leave (Napoli is a frontrunner, but Monaco is also linked), Torino needs a new goalkeeper. While Elia Caprile was a preferred option, his price may be too high after Cagliari exercised their purchase option. After also considering Montipò (Hellas Verona) and Falcone (Lecce), Stefano Turati from Sassuolo has emerged as a new profile of interest. Discussions with Sassuolo could extend beyond Turati to include other players. Cristian Volpato, an Italian-Australian winger who can play various attacking midfield roles, is also liked and could leave Sassuolo.
Today marked the deadline for Serie A clubs to exercise loan-to-buy options. Torino bids farewell to Elif Elmas, who arrived in January from Leipzig and quickly impressed. The Macedonian returns to Leipzig, who are not open to another loan. A permanent departure would cost around €20 million, and Elmas has significant interest from the Premier League; Leipzig expects concrete proposals soon.
Cagliari confirms the permanent signings of Caprile, Piccoli, and Adopo. As anticipated, the island club exercised the purchase option for goalkeeper Elia Caprile for €8 million, making his move permanent. Shortly after, Cagliari also completed the permanent signing of striker Roberto Piccoli. Following Caprile and Piccoli, Cagliari finalized their third option of the day, signing midfielder Michel Adopo permanently from Atalanta, completing their planned permanent acquisitions.
Maxim De Cuyper is set to leave Club Brugge. The Belgian left-back, born in 2000 and recently called up to the senior national team, is a highly-rated player from one of Europe`s talent factories. Former midfielder Walter Baseggio praised him, highlighting his strong left foot, defensive ability, and knack for assists, stating he`s ready for a move up and will continue to improve. De Cuyper is under contract with Club Brugge for three more years, but has received numerous inquiries and offers. Brighton is reportedly pushing hard for his transfer to England. His valuation is currently around €20 million, and Italian clubs Milan and Roma are also interested.
Francesco Camarda is ready to start his first real professional adventure. The young Milan prospect, who had a mixed season between the first team and the U23 side, is expected to move to Lecce in the coming hours. The operation is reported to be a loan deal with an option to buy for Lecce, and a counter-option for Milan.
Giovanni Simeone is Pisa`s primary attacking target as they prepare for their return to Serie A. This is a significant name for the Tuscan club, as his father Diego Simeone made his Italian debut there from 1990 to 1992. Contact between Pisa and Napoli management is planned for the coming hours. Simeone, who contributed one goal in 30 appearances for Napoli last season, is not the only Napoli player Pisa is interested in; they also like Pasquale Mazzocchi and Alessio Zerbin.
Napoli is strengthening their wings and has reportedly agreed terms with Noa Lang. The Dutch winger, previously linked with Bologna`s Ndoye, has accepted the move to Naples. Napoli now needs to reach an agreement with PSV Eindhoven. The clubs are expected to hold new talks soon for a deal that could be around €28 million.
As reported in recent weeks, Bologna`s top target to reinforce their attack is Ruben Van Bommel from AZ Alkmaar, a club Bologna has done business with previously. Talks between the clubs have taken place, but the situation is currently stalled and becoming difficult. Bologna is reportedly facing an excessive valuation from AZ for Van Bommel Jr. AZ is holding firm on a base fee starting at €20 million, plus bonuses, and the player is not pushing for a move. This obstacle from AZ might force Bologna to pursue alternative attacking targets.
Rumors from England linked Mario Pasalic with Sunderland and Leeds United due to reports of his contract expiring on June 30th. However, this information is inaccurate. Pasalic has no intention of leaving Bergamo. His contract renewal with Atalanta is already finalized for the next three years, and only the official announcement is pending. There are no doubts or remaining details to sort out; Pasalic will continue with Atalanta, even without Gasperini as coach.
Following Jaka Bijol`s departure, Udinese welcomes Nicolò Bertola. The Friulian club officially announced the signing of the Italian defender from Spezia, who has signed a contract until 2030.
Cristiano Biraghi is officially a Torino player. The Granata club confirmed on their official website that they exercised the purchase option for the left-back, who will be a key player for the new coach Marco Baroni.
It`s now official: Albert Gudmundsson is a new Fiorentina player. The Viola club decided not to exercise their initial €17 million purchase option but successfully negotiated a lower fee. Fiorentina and Genoa reached an agreement for the player to join the Viola permanently for approximately €13 million.
Ondrej Duda appears set to leave Hellas Verona on a free transfer. Contract renewal talks are completely stalled, and there are no positive signs regarding a potential extension. A move to Saudi Arabia is becoming increasingly concrete, with Al-Ettifaq reportedly initiating contacts and nearing an agreement with the Slovak midfielder.
Napoli continues scouting for right-back options. They have reportedly made an inquiry about Martim Fernandes, a 2006-born defender from Porto, who is liked by sporting director Giovanni Manna and the club`s scouts. The player`s valuation by Porto and the feasibility of a deal remain to be seen, but initial contact has been made.
At Juventus, the dream target for the wings remains Jadon Sancho. The Bianconeri have long admired the English player owned by Manchester United, who spent last season on loan at Chelsea. Juventus is set to relaunch their pursuit. The management of both clubs are expected to have new contact tomorrow to assess the feasibility of the operation. Meanwhile, Juventus is also monitoring Jonathan David. Yesterday, there was a phone call between Lille`s general director Comolli and the Canadian player`s entourage to see if he is still open to joining Juventus. It`s reported that former director Giuntoli had previously secured the player, but the deal stalled after his departure. The new management is now attempting to revive the negotiation, which is still possible.

Athletic Club secured a free transfer signing with Robert Navarro, a 2002-born attacker from Mallorca. The player signed a contract until June 30, 2030, aligning with the club`s long-term project. Navarro, 23, has developed through elite academies like Osasuna, Barcelona, Monaco, and Real Sociedad. He has made 89 senior appearances, including in European competitions (scoring two goals in the Europa League). Last season with Mallorca, he played 25 games, featuring as both a winger and attacking midfielder.
Rodrigo De Paul`s future with Atletico Madrid is uncertain. The Argentine midfielder is on the market, with Galatasaray showing concrete interest. Those close to him are considering a move to Turkey. In recent days, he was also linked with some Italian clubs, particularly Milan, who appreciate his qualities. It`s a critical period for the former Udinese player, who will soon decide his next step. A move outside Europe to Saudi Arabia is also a possibility, with clubs there reportedly ready to make an offer. Galatasaray is making a serious attempt and could soon submit an official proposal to start negotiations. Atletico has given the green light for De Paul to leave. His contract expires in 2026, and a renewal is not expected, partly to lower costs.
After investing €75 million in Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton, Manchester United is reportedly ready to make another significant move for Bryan Mbeumo. United has reportedly offered €70 million to Brentford for the 25-year-old Cameroonian, who had a strong season. Mbeumo, under contract until 2027, is also a target for Tottenham. However, Brentford is in no rush to sell and is waiting for the right offer.
Celta Vigo has strengthened their attack with the signing of Ferran Jutglà Blanch (born February 1, 1999), their third summer acquisition. The Catalan striker arrives from Club Brugge and has signed a four-year contract until June 30, 2029. Jutglà came through the youth ranks of various clubs, including Barcelona, where he debuted for the first team in 2021/22. He then moved to Club Brugge, becoming a key forward and impressing in the Champions League. During his time in Belgium, he played 148 games, scoring 40 goals and providing 24 assists across all competitions.
RB Leipzig has appointed Ole Werner as their new coach. The young German coach, 37, who recently left Werder Bremen, has signed a contract valid until 2027. Werner takes over one of the most prominent benches in the Bundesliga after a steady rise through coaching roles at Kiel and Bremen.
Fernando Muslera is starting a new chapter. After 14 years at Galatasaray in Istanbul, the 39-year-old Argentine goalkeeper has opted for an adventure outside Europe and has officially signed with Estudiantes in Argentina until December 2026. The former Lazio player joins his new club on an 18-month deal.
Luiz Felipe, who joined Marseille from Lazio on a free transfer in January, had a difficult time at the Velodrome, making only four appearances due to injuries. Unsurprisingly, the French club does not intend to keep him, despite his contract running until 2026. However, there is still faith in the Brazilian defender, particularly from Rayo Vallecano, who are reportedly close to completing his signing for the upcoming season. As they prepare for European competition after 24 years, Luiz Felipe would bring significant experience. He is already familiar with La Liga, having played a season with Real Betis, and reached the peak of his career over five seasons with Lazio, making 144 appearances for the Biancocelesti.
Contrary to initial desires for an extension until the 2026 World Cup, Neymar Jr. has signed a new contract with Santos until December 2025, with an option to renew. The club announced the agreement. Reports indicate the 33-year-old forward will earn over 4.5 million reais (€700k) monthly, with the overall deal valued at 85 million reais (€13 million) until December 2026. This agreement allows Neymar the flexibility to change his future during the next transfer window if desired, as he won`t be tied to Santos come January next year. His father-agent had previously stated he would present potential offers to Santos, even during the Club World Cup, but a departure mid-season would have been viewed negatively. Now, Neymar must regain his best form and play more games to help Santos avoid relegation. With the renewal until December, Neymar will have the opportunity to play in the Brasileirão until the final matchday, as the national tournament continues until the end of the year due to the Club World Cup.
