Coventry City midfielder Jack Rudoni, who has been linked with interest from clubs including Premier League side Newcastle United, is reportedly happy playing for the Sky Blues.
The 23-year-old joined Coventry City from Huddersfield Town last summer and enjoyed a brilliant debut season with the club.
Rudoni was a key performer, netting ten goals and providing 12 assists across 45 appearances in the Championship. His contributions were vital in helping Mark Robins` side reach the playoffs.
His excellent performance level throughout the season with Coventry has understandably captured the attention of several clubs, most notably Premier League outfit Newcastle United.
Recently relegated clubs Leicester City and Southampton have also been mentioned in connection with Rudoni, although both currently compete in the Championship.
Reports suggest that Newcastle United sent scouts to observe Rudoni playing for Coventry on multiple occasions during the season that recently concluded.
Despite the rumoured interest, Newcastle have not yet made a formal approach or offer to sign the 23-year-old midfielder this summer.
According to journalist Mantej Mann, while Rudoni is interested in potentially playing in the Premier League at some point in the future, he is content and happy with his situation at Coventry City for now.
The midfielder is reportedly enjoying working under manager Mark Robins, and his performances saw notable improvement during the course of last season.
Newcastle boss Eddie Howe is understood to be looking to bolster his midfield options. This is partly due to the uncertainty surrounding Sean Longstaff, who is entering the final year of his contract and is reportedly attracting interest from various clubs.
While Championship clubs like Southampton and Leicester City could offer competition, Newcastle`s status as a Premier League club offers a significant lure for Rudoni.
Coventry City themselves will be aiming for promotion back to the top flight next season, and manager Mark Robins will undoubtedly be keen to retain Rudoni, who was a standout player for them in the previous campaign.
