The latest announcement of the England national football squad has generated considerable discussion, primarily focusing on significant absences. A notable omission from the lineup is Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold. Despite demonstrating strong recent form, having started seven of his club’s last nine matches after an earlier spell out of favour, Alexander-Arnold was surprisingly not included.
Also absent from the squad is Chelsea’s Reece James. His exclusion is due to a hamstring injury sustained during a match against Newcastle, rendering him unavailable for selection.
The goalkeepers named in the squad are Dean Henderson, Jordan Pickford, James Trafford, Aaron Ramsdale, and Jason Steele.
