The final score saw the Spanish side clinch three points. They established an early dominance, going two goals up within the first 18 minutes courtesy of strikes from Pubill and Joseph. However, Slovakia displayed significant resolve in the second half. They managed to score two quick goals in the space of five minutes, first through Kopasek and then via a penalty expertly converted by Verona midfielder Tomas Suslov, leveling the score.

Despite Slovakia`s comeback, Spain found a late winner. Just minutes before the final whistle, Tarrega netted the decisive goal for Spain, securing their 3-2 win and placing them at the top of Group A with three points.
