Fabio Capello on Milan’s Needs and Napoli’s Title Prospects

Football News

Speaking in an interview with the latest edition of *Gazzetta dello Sport*, Fabio Capello analyzed AC Milan`s upcoming fixture list, describing the challenging run from matchday 5 to 13 where they face seven top teams from last season as a “tour de force”. However, the former coach of Milan, Roma, and Juventus among others, highlighted a key advantage for the Rossoneri: unlike their main rivals, they won`t be involved in European competitions during this period.

Capello emphasized the need for significant improvements at Milan, stating that after finishing 8th, “there are many things to fix,” and that Allegri faces a big task ahead.

The former Rossoneri coach also commented on Napoli`s position, labeling them as title favorites “or thereabouts”. He asserted that the defending champions naturally start as the team to beat, especially if, as he reads, chairman De Laurentiis intends to make significant market moves, potentially adding champions “of De Bruyne`s calibre”.

Capello suggested Napoli`s biggest obstacle might be sustaining their top level while competing in Europe again. He concluded that Champions League expectations will be high, and it won`t be easy for coach Conte to succeed greatly on multiple fronts simultaneously.
