Kylian Mbappe Embraces Real Madrid Criticism: "I'm No Exception"
Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe has openly stated his expectation of facing criticism, considering it an inherent part of playing for the illustrious club. While he has been transparent about his recovery from knee issues during the international break, his role alongside Vinicius Junior has recently come under scrutiny.
Despite being arguably Real Madrid's most consistent performer this season, second only to Thibaut Courtois, and contributing significantly to the team's goal tally, his absence due to injury ironically coincided with one of Los Blancos' strongest periods and Vinicius's peak form. This unexpected turn has sparked debate regarding Mbappe's overall impact on the team's collective play.
Mbappe: Undivided Focus on Real Madrid
Amidst ongoing uncertainty surrounding his knee injury, there were suggestions that Mbappe might be exercising caution with an eye on the upcoming World Cup. However, in an interview with Telefoot, reported by Diario AS, Mbappe firmly refuted these claims.
"In Spain, there's some concern that I won't play... and that I'll go straight to the World Cup," Mbappe clarified. "The best way to prepare is to first win everything with Real Madrid."
"Why Should I Be the Exception?" – Mbappe on Criticism
Addressing the criticism he has encountered since his arrival in the Spanish capital, Mbappe emphasized that such scrutiny is par for the course at Real Madrid.
"Real Madrid is akin to a religion for people in Spain; they are incredibly passionate, leading to much discussion and speculation, some of it justified, some not," he explained. "You must learn to handle criticism because every player at Real Madrid, from legends like Ronaldo and Di Stefano onwards, has faced it. So, I see no reason why I should be an exception. One simply has to remain calm, concentrate on their duties, and constantly reflect on how to improve performance on the pitch."
With an impressive record of 38 goals and six assists in 35 appearances this season, all eyes will be on how manager Carlo Ancelotti reintegrates Mbappe into the new-look Real Madrid side upon his return. Notably, Brahim Diaz has recently been the preferred attacking partner for Vinicius in front of a four-man midfield.
