Spain Unveils 2026 World Cup Away Kit and Confirms Second March Friendly
Spain is gearing up for the 2026 World Cup and has adapted its plans following the cancellation of La Finalissima. Following the November unveiling of their home kit, the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) recently revealed their new white away jersey, manufactured by Adidas.
The home shirt for La Roja features a vintage aesthetic, reminiscent of their 1990s designs. In contrast, the new away kit is predominantly white with striking red accents and boasts an intricate pattern on the front. This design is said to draw inspiration from historical Spanish manuscripts and literature, a detail confirmed by Adidas, linking it back to Spain's rich cultural heritage.
Spain Confirms Second Friendly Match Against Egypt
After the cancellation of La Finalissima in Qatar, due to the RFEF and Argentine Football Association (AFA) failing to agree on a new venue, La Roja has been actively arranging alternative fixtures to maintain their World Cup readiness. Coach Luis de la Fuente is expected to announce his final squad this Friday. Their initial friendly will see them play Serbia on March 27th at La Ceramica in Vila-Real.
Although Spain was originally scheduled to play Egypt following La Finalissima in Doha, there was initial doubt about Egypt remaining their opponent. However, the RFEF has now confirmed a second friendly against Egypt on March 31st, to be hosted at Espanyol’s RCDE Stadium.
Spain's Final World Cup Preparations
Spain has two more friendly matches scheduled before the World Cup begins across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Their farewell game will be on June 4th in Galicia at Riazor, where La Roja will play Iraq. Four days later, they will compete against Peru in Puebla, Mexico, leaving them eight days before their opening group stage fixture against Cape Verde. Following the match against Peru, the Spanish squad will proceed to their tournament base in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
