Today marks the official start of Gian Piero Gasperini`s tenure at AS Roma. The long-anticipated news was made official today with the announcement of the agreement with the former Atalanta coach, lasting until June 30, 2028.

“AS Roma is pleased to announce that Gian Piero Gasperini is the new Head Coach of the First Team.
Gasperini`s career has been characterized by innovative tactics, a strong work ethic, and an extraordinary ability to develop players.
The Ownership and Claudio Ranieri are convinced that Gasperini is the right man for this role.

Gasperini`s First Words: “Roma is a Great Challenge”
Shortly after the official announcement, Gian Piero Gasperini shared his initial thoughts on the club`s official channels. “My first impressions are very positive. I came to Trigoria for the first time today; I didn`t know it before. It`s a wonderful and functional center, the best for someone who wants to work.”
Regarding the reasons for his choice, he stated: “I chose Roma because it is a great challenge; I need important challenges. I arrive in an environment with great passion, and this gave me great enthusiasm, in addition to the opportunity given to me by Ranieri and the club. It`s a great adrenaline rush that I needed to try and do something good.”
“The adrenaline is dictated by all components,” he continued, “and by the fact that Roma has great passion behind it and wants to achieve big goals. In my opinion, all the conditions are there, with strong ownership that wants to bring Roma to high levels. Then there`s Ranieri, who is a guarantee for the club, a young sports director but with great work and scouting abilities. Everyone is very prepared. All the best conditions are in place to do a good job.”
Regarding his demands for the players, Gasperini said: “To play well. I don`t think there are many secrets; my way of playing reflects my characteristics. My teams have always played in a certain way, with intensity and quality, scoring many goals, always thinking about scoring one more rather than conceding one less. My characteristics are known. I would like to put them into practice at Roma.”
