Football News

Udinese has extended the contract of Gokhan Inler, who will continue as the head of the technical area for the Friulian club through the 2025-2026 season. This marks his second year in a directorial role after a successful first year where he gained valuable experience and contributed to the team`s performance. Udinese secured a comfortable 12th-place finish in the league, ensuring their safety well before the end of the season.

The former midfielder shared his thoughts on the renewal, stating: “Udinese is home for me. As I`ve always said, this is the ideal place for me to embark on a career in football management, and I am very pleased to be able to continue the work we began last year. Alongside experienced directors such as Franco Collavino and Gianluca Nani and the coach, we are committed to redoubling our efforts to bring the fans the satisfaction they deserve, all while upholding Udinese`s core ambitions and philosophy.”

Inler has a deep connection with the club, having previously played for Udinese for four seasons between 2007 and 2011. During his playing spell, he made 162 appearances and scored 9 goals. His time in Friuli Venezia-Giulia also included participation in the UEFA Cup, where the team reached the quarterfinals before being eliminated by Werder Bremen.
