Reports suggesting that RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga are interested in Liverpool`s attacking midfielder, Harvey Elliott, have been dismissed.
This summer, Liverpool have already made significant investments, acquiring Jeremie Frimpong, Florian Wirtz, and Milos Kerkez. Notably, two of these signings came from the Bundesliga.
Further expenditure is anticipated before the transfer window closes, as the Reds are reportedly seeking to add another central defender and a forward to their squad.
Speculation surrounds the future of Darwin Nunez, with Napoli reportedly showing interest in a potential sale. Uncertainty also reportedly exists regarding the status of Ibrahima Konate, Luis Diaz, and Federico Chiesa.
Attacking midfielder Elliott has also been subject to transfer rumours, with RB Leipzig of the Bundesliga mentioned as a potential suitor.
However, German broadcaster Sky Deutschland states that Leipzig has not engaged in any discussions or negotiations with Liverpool concerning Elliott.
Given his valuation, reported to be between €45m and €50m, Elliott is considered `likely too expensive` for the Bundesliga side to acquire.
Consequently, the English player is `presently not an option` for the club.
Considering Jurgen Klopp`s ties to the Red Bull organisation, Leipzig would presumably have good insight into the qualities Elliott possesses.
However, the club`s failure to qualify for European competition last season has undoubtedly impacted their financial capacity.
Therefore, a transfer to Leipzig appears improbable unless Liverpool significantly lowers their valuation for the attacking midfielder.
Earlier this summer, Bayer Leverkusen also reportedly showed interest, and his potential inclusion in the deal for Wirtz was reportedly considered.
A potential return to his former club, Fulham, has also been suggested as another possibility.
