Following the departure of Simone Inzaghi, who has since moved to Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia, Inter Milan has appointed their new head coach. The *nerazzurri* club initially explored the possibility of bringing in Cesc Fabregas, but this option did not materialize as Como was unwilling to enter negotiations.
Consequently, Inter CEO Beppe Marotta and the club`s management quickly decided to pursue Cristian Chivu, receiving clearance from Parma. The Romanian coach recently visited Inter`s headquarters on Viale della Liberazione to formalize his new agreement with the club, which is set to run until June 2027. Both parties have reached an agreement, and initial documents have been signed, with official announcements anticipated soon.
A few hours later, during the Serie A calendar draw in Parma, Marotta effectively confirmed the development. He stated, “Inzaghi`s announcement caught us somewhat unprepared, and we acted quickly. We explored available options; Fabregas was not available, but Cristian Chivu was. Thanks to Parma`s cooperation, we accelerated the process, and I hope it can be finalized within a day or two.” Despite the cautious language, it is evident that Chivu is already confirmed as Inter Milan`s new manager.
