Lazio president Claudio Lotito has broken his silence to address the situation of his team. After a year without qualifying for European competition, ambitions are high, but Lazio`s transfer market is currently blocked. Any potential deals require a recapitalization of the club, a point emphasized by the president himself in an interview with today`s edition of Il Messaggero.
“If I decide to make signings, I will recapitalize,” Claudio Lotito stated at the outset, “but it wouldn`t make sense because Lazio doesn`t need capital, nor do we have player issues. At most, we`ll make adjustments in January; that`s not the main concern. We have no need to sell our key players or make new signings. In fact, we need to thin out the squad because we have 30 players for just one competition.”
The Biancoceleste chairman went on to discuss the offers received for top players, stressing his unwillingness to let important members of his squad leave. “They offered me 40 million for Castellanos,” he continued, “the same amount for Rovella, Gila, and Zaccagni. Also, 35 million for Tavares, 25 million for Isaksen, and 15 million for Romagnoli. I did sell Tchaouna for 15 million. But the key point is, I don`t want to dismantle the team.”
