John Textor & Botafogo to Sue OL Over 'Ghost Transfers' to Recover Due Funds
John Textor & Botafogo to Sue OL Over 'Ghost Transfers' to Recover Due Funds
John Textor and the Brazilian club Botafogo are preparing to launch legal proceedings against Olympique Lyonnais (OL) in the context of the contentious "ghost transfers affair." Their primary objective is to reclaim the amounts they assert are legally due to them from the French club.
This move underscores a significant dispute regarding alleged irregularities in past transfer dealings, where certain financial commitments or agreements are believed to have been unfulfilled. As a major stakeholder in both Botafogo and OL's parent company, Eagle Football, Textor is initiating this legal action to enforce financial accountability and recover outstanding debts.
The forthcoming lawsuit aims to bring clarity to the financial transactions involved and ensure the recovery of funds that Botafogo and Textor maintain were not properly settled during these controversial player transfers.
