According to recent reports, Premier League champions Liverpool are considering the sale of young midfielder Harvey Elliott.
Under new manager Arne Slot, the club has been active in the transfer market this summer, investing significantly with new arrivals including Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen, alongside Milos Kerkez from AFC Bournemouth. Total spending has reportedly exceeded €200 million.
Such substantial expenditure necessitates balancing the books, and Liverpool is reportedly looking to offload Elliott to help achieve this. The midfielder recently impressed, scoring five goals in six appearances as England secured their second consecutive U21 European Championship.
Sources suggest the Merseyside club would demand around €58 million for the 21-year-old. Premier League sides like Brighton & Hove Albion and West Ham United are understood to be monitoring his situation.
However, this valuation might prove a hurdle for potential suitors.
In Germany, Bayer Leverkusen has previously shown interest in bringing Elliott to the BayArena, while RB Leipzig is also known to admire the midfielder`s talent.
Consequently, Liverpool could be open to lowering their asking price to approximately €47 million.
Any deal at this reduced figure would likely include a buy-back option for the Reds, similar to the reported discussions surrounding Jarell Quansah`s potential transfer to Leverkusen.
Despite the interest from Leverkusen, a move for Elliott might become less likely if they successfully sign Malik Tillman from PSV Eindhoven.
