The Lucchese Curva Ovest supporters` group has issued a statement commenting on the club`s failure to register for Serie C. They stated, “Having been accustomed to years of sporting disappointments and discouraging results, we approached this situation cautiously, not blindly believing anyone who boasted about fantastical plans to keep things going.
As expected, our caution was fully justified. What is most disappointing is the way this outcome was reached. For the umpteenth time, a flood of nonsense and empty promises were made – talk of endless documents to sign, evaluations, contacts, and plans from A to Z. All of it proved useless. Everyone involved in this dismal spectacle played their part, each in their own way.
Everyone should be well aware, if it still needs emphasizing, that Lucchese belongs to those who truly love it. Various businessmen or boastful individuals who merely pay lip service to the history of the team representing our city have nothing to do with these colors. We will start again, as we always have, from any league.
A positive note from the end of the season was the 120th-anniversary celebration held in the curva and organized by the lads who truly put in the effort all year for these colors. Let`s start again from there, all together.”
