Marotta Details Inter’s Strategy: Youth Focus, Chivu’s Role, and Transfer Market

Football News

Inter president Beppe Marotta recently spoke to Sky Sport about the club`s coaching situation. He explained the decision to appoint Cristian Chivu after reportedly missing out on Cesc Fabregas. Marotta expressed confidence and pride in Chivu, describing him as an excellent coach who embodies the club`s authentic values. “We are very confident,” he stated.

When asked if Chivu`s appointment signaled a younger Inter squad, Marotta confirmed the ongoing strategy. “The model is always the same: we have in mind to rejuvenate,” he said, “but our objective is to continue what we`ve done in recent years, which is to participate in the competitions we`ve earned the right to be in, with the awareness of trying to win.” He acknowledged that other teams might perform better at times but stressed that being among the top clubs is a rare privilege. “There are teams that have never reached [this level],” he noted, adding that Inter aims to return to achieving significant objectives.

Addressing potential transfer targets like Bonny and Leoni, Marotta indicated that while the team`s core would be maintained, discussions are underway with Ausilio and Baccin to strengthen the competitive roster. “There are many names on our notebook,” he revealed. Marotta clarified the type of players they are seeking: “What I can tell you is that we are looking for important young profiles who can represent a technical asset but also a future full of great satisfaction for our club.”
