According to reports from the Daily Mail, Newcastle United have reportedly made contact with Nottingham Forest to gather information about Anthony Elanga. Although discussions are said to be in their initial phases, the newspaper indicates that the Magpies are keen on securing the 23-year-old winger.
However, convincing the club based in Nottingham to part ways with the player will be challenging, especially as his current contract still has three years left to run. Newcastle manager Eddie Howe is known to be a significant admirer of the Swedish international, having previously attempted to sign him on the very last day of the transfer window last summer. At that time, the initial offer was reported to be £35 million, but it is now suggested that a higher fee would likely be required.
