Former Barcelona forward Nolito has publicly criticized young Blaugrana and Spain national team winger Lamine Yamal. The subject of Nolito`s disapproval was Yamal`s choice to wear a cap during the post-match press conference following Spain`s recent Nations League victory against France, which ended dramatically with a 5:4 scoreline.
“If I were his father, I would have hit him on the ear with the cap,” Nolito frankly stated during his appearance on the program El Chiringuito. He added, “Honestly, I don`t approve of this kind of behavior. There is a time and place for these things. After all, he is representing a significant club like Barcelona.”
In the recently concluded season, the 17-year-old Yamal had a standout campaign, featuring in 55 matches for Barcelona across all competitions. He proved to be a key attacking force, scoring 18 goals and providing an impressive 25 assists.
Yamal`s involvement with the senior Spain national team began in September 2023. Since his debut, he has made 21 appearances for the national squad, netting 6 goals.
