Nottingham Forest’s Push to Sign Timothy Weah

Football News

Nottingham Forest still face the task of convincing Juventus player Timothy Weah to make a move to the City Ground this summer.

The 25-year-old winger arrived at Juventus from Lille in the summer of 2023 and has since played 78 matches for the club, netting seven goals.

Weah is known for his versatility, primarily a right winger but capable of operating in various other roles, which he has demonstrated during his two seasons with Juventus.

However, the United States international has not consistently secured a place in the starting XI, and with Juventus planning squad adjustments this summer, they could be open to selling him.

Premier League side Nottingham Forest are keen to bolster their attacking options and have identified Weah as a potential target.

The USA international remains hesitant about a move to Forest. On Tuesday, the club reportedly contacted Weah`s representatives again to discuss potential salary terms and explore ways to alleviate the player`s concerns.

Despite these discussions, Italian newspaper TuttoSport reports that the winger is still not entirely convinced by the prospect of joining Forest.

Forest, managed by Nuno Espirito Santo, face competition for Weah`s signature, as Tottenham and Everton are also reported admirers in the Premier League.

The winger brings European experience, having played nine times for Juventus in last season`s Champions League.

Nottingham Forest are also considering another Juventus winger, Samuel Mbangula, and have held talks regarding the Belgian player.

The 21-year-old left winger, who had a limited role at Juventus last season, reportedly views a potential move to the Tricky Trees as a positive step for his career development.

Should Forest pursue both players, they would need to reach agreements with Juventus. Attention will now be on Nuno Espirito Santo`s side to see if they can ultimately secure the approval of the USA international, Timothy Weah.
