Jonathan Tah, a defender whose name has frequently been linked with a potential transfer to La Liga side Barcelona, has instead put pen to paper on a deal with another of Europe`s top clubs on Thursday.
Tah has been a prominent figure in transfer speculation surrounding Barcelona for several months.
Reports suggested the Bayer Leverkusen star, whose contract was nearing its expiry at the BayArena, had entered into negotiations with the Camp Nou hierarchy regarding a potential free transfer this summer.
At one stage, it was even reported that an agreement between Tah and Barcelona was practically finalized.
However, in recent weeks, claims began to surface suggesting Tah was growing impatient, possibly due to a lack of official progress on his anticipated switch to Barca.
As a result, the German international has now confirmed his move elsewhere.
Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich announced on Thursday morning, via their social media channels, that they have successfully signed Tah. His contract with the Bavarian club runs until the summer of 2029.
