Paul Pogba Signs for AS Monaco

Paul Pogba makes his return to professional football!

AS Monaco has officially announced this Saturday the free transfer of Paul Pogba to the club.

The Principality club has secured the services of the 32-year-old French World Cup winner on a two-season contract. This move sees Pogba discover Ligue 1 for the first time, having left his training club Le Havre for Manchester United at the young age of 16.

The experienced midfielder will now join the third senior club of his career, having previously played for Manchester United and Juventus, his most recent team.

Pogba`s comeback follows a significant two-year period away from official matches due to a doping suspension. He was initially handed a four-year ban in September 2023 after testing positive for testosterone during Juventus` match against Udinese on August 20, 2023. However, in October 2024, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) reduced the French international`s suspension from four years to 18 months. The CAS recognized that the positive result stemmed from taking a dietary supplement prescribed by a doctor in the United States and was not intentional.

Having been eligible to sign with any club since last March, Paul Pogba has chosen Ligue 1 and AS Monaco as the stage for his return to the pitch. This decision comes just over a year before the 2026 FIFA World Cup…

Could the World Cup in the USA be the ultimate target for `La Pioche`?
