Reports out of Germany indicate that Werder Bremen`s versatile player, Felix Agu, continues to draw attention from Premier League clubs. This comes despite previous reports from the same publication suggesting Agu had let two release clauses expire, apparently indicating a preference for staying in the Bundesliga.
Formerly linked with Premier League sides like West Ham United and Fulham, the newly-capped Nigerian international is also said to have received offers from unmentioned clubs in Italy and Germany. According to Sport Bild, Agu is now reportedly amenable to a potential transfer if a suitable opportunity arises.
Any club hoping to sign the 25-year-old from Werder Bremen could face a significant fee. The previous release clause was reportedly €10 million, and Bremen is expected to demand at least this figure for one of their key players from the past season.
Peter Niemeyer, head of licensing at Bremen, confirmed inquiries from other clubs in the Sport Bild article but generally downplayed all exit rumors from the club.
“There are always inquiries,” Niemeyer commented, “but so far there has been nothing that we have pursued further.”
