Premier League Players Whose Contracts Expire on July 1st

Football News

Today marks a significant date for numerous players across the Premier League, as it is the final day of their current contractual agreements. Consequently, a considerable number of footballers are poised to attain free agent status starting tomorrow.

Among those entering free agency are several well-known figures who have not yet announced their future club affiliations.

Confirmation arrived on Sunday that striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin will be departing Everton after a tenure spanning nine seasons. Calvert-Lewin is reportedly seeking a fresh challenge, having accumulated 273 appearances and netted 71 goals for the Toffees since joining from Sheffield United in 2016.

While Everton has put forward an offer for a new contract to midfielder Idrissa Gueye, confirmation regarding whether he has signed this extension is still pending.

Arsenal has also confirmed the departure of midfielder Thomas Partey. The Gunners stated they were unable to come to an agreement on terms for a contract extension with the player.

In related news, Arsenal has reportedly moved quickly to address their midfield needs following Partey`s exit. Agreements are said to be in place for the acquisition of Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi and Brentford captain Christian Norgaard.

This transition period sees players from both retaining and recently relegated Premier League clubs exploring their options as their current deals conclude this week.
