RB Leipzig has formally announced Ole Werner as their new head coach. This appointment signifies a major shift for the club following prolonged rumors and speculation about who would take the helm.
The 37-year-old, who previously managed Werder Bremen, has agreed to a contract keeping him with the Red Bulls through 2027. The club shared this news on their social media platforms earlier today.
Werner`s arrival concludes an extensive search process for a new manager, during which candidates like Sebastian Hoeneß and Cesc Fabregas were reportedly considered.
The transfer was completed following an agreement with Werder Bremen. The deal includes compensation of up to two million euros for releasing the coach, an agreement reached just days prior to the official announcement.
Werner, who took charge at Werder Bremen in 2022, will be joined by his long-time assistants, Patrick Kohlmann and Tom Cichon. This unit forms a familiar coaching staff poised to guide the team in the upcoming season.
