AS Roma is showing interest in a new transfer target, a promising young player currently competing in Serie C.
The player in question is Antonio Arena, a 16-year-old highly-rated forward owned by Pescara. Reports indicate that his move to Roma is now very close to being finalized.
Antonio Arena, born in Sydney on February 10, 2009, holds dual Italian and Australian citizenship. He is a left-footed center forward who developed through Pescara`s youth system.
Despite his young age, he made his debut with Pescara`s senior team in Serie C last season. He featured in four league matches during the regular season, scoring one goal in the 4-1 victory against Lucchese and providing an assist in the subsequent match against Pontedera. He also played 29 minutes in the crucial playoff final return leg against Ternana, which secured Pescara`s promotion back to Serie B.
Arena was also a key player for the Primavera 2 squad, making 14 appearances and scoring 3 goals. Additionally, he made one appearance in the Coppa Italia Primavera. Frederic Massara, who recently returned to the Giallorossi setup, is reportedly keeping a close eye on the youth market, targeting talents like Arena who can develop into valuable technical and economic assets for Roma`s future.
