According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the buyout option for Athletic Bilbao`s winger, Nico Williams, will amount to 100 million euros starting from 2026.

On July 4, the 22-year-old player extended his contract with the Basque club until 2035. Under the terms of the new agreement, the Spanish national team winger will earn over 10 million euros annually, including performance-related bonuses. The contract also includes additional payments tied to his appearances for “La Furia Roja”.

Previously, media outlets reported that Williams was close to a move to Barcelona. It was claimed that the player had agreed on personal terms with the Catalan side, and the club had prepared the necessary sum for his buyout clause.
