Sampdoria Coach Enigma: Evaluating Evani’s Confirmation and Alternatives

After achieving salvation through the playouts, Sampdoria is now looking ahead to the future, starting with the coaching position. In recent days, two specific coaches` names have been frequently mentioned – Daniele De Rossi and Fabio Pecchia – as potential candidates to lead yet another rebuilding effort aimed at achieving promotion back to Serie A. However, the possibility of confirming Chicco Evani in the role is also being considered.

According to reports from Secolo XIX, following the match in Castellammare (which initially seemed to seal relegation before later events involving Brescia reversed the situation), renewing the contract of the former midfielder [Evani] and his collaborators Lombardo and Gregucci seemed improbable, almost impossible. Now, however, it presents an option that President Matteo Manfredi must weigh, potentially in consultation with Roberto Mancini, who was instrumental in the original appointment.

Beyond the two aforementioned profiles, the Blucerchiati club is reportedly evaluating other names as well. These include the experienced Giuseppe Iachini, a specialist in achieving promotions (including one previously with Sampdoria) and who was already considered after Leonardo Semplici earlier this season. Also in consideration is the emerging Lillo Foti, a former Sampdoria player previously linked to the club after Andrea Pirlo, who recently embarked on his own coaching path after working as a collaborator for José Mourinho.
