Spalletti on Mancini’s Acerbi Like: “Someone Stole His Phone…”

Football News

In an interview with Sky Sport on the eve of Italy`s World Cup qualifier against Norway, Azzurri coach Luciano Spalletti addressed the Francesco Acerbi case, also commenting on Roberto Mancini`s `like` on a social media post. Spalletti said: “We are all happy to be here and ready to play a match of this level. There`s always that needle oscillating between the tension and mental difficulty of the game, but also the beauty and attraction of playing for something unique.”

Asked about the Acerbi situation, having already spoken on it, but wishing to respond to the social message about respect that Mancini also liked?
Spalletti replied: “One day he will explain to me where I lacked respect towards him, and I will tell him what I think about respect and what he did to me and, above all, to the national team. I think Mancini`s phone must have been stolen, and someone is putting likes on things to make him look bad and make a poor impression. It`s something that can happen; phones get hacked, and I think this is what happened.”

Is the match against Norway the most important?
“It is the most important match because it`s the one that can take us to the World Cup. We will play with all our possible qualities.”
