Cosenza`s season concluded with the most unfortunate outcome possible: relegation to Serie C on May 4th. They finished in last place in the Serie B standings, a position influenced not only by a four-point penalty for administrative irregularities but also by numerous technical management errors throughout the season. The club`s future is now entirely uncertain, with significant player departures expected. Goalkeeper Alessandro Micai is likely to be among those leaving, despite his contract with the Calabrian club running until June 30, 2026.
According to reports, the 31-year-old goalkeeper, born in 1993, has drawn the attention of SudTirol. A move there would see him reunited with coach Fabrizio Castori, under whom he previously played during their time together at Salernitana. Furthermore, an arrival in Bolzano would mark a return for Micai, as he previously represented SudTirol in the 2013-2014 season, making 18 appearances as they secured a third-place finish in the then Lega Pro Prima Divisione.
Developments are therefore anticipated. SudTirol, having confirmed Castori as their coach, has already commenced the process of structuring their squad in a timely manner for the upcoming Serie B season.
