Team Spirit Initiates Rigorous Training Block Ahead of IEM Cologne 2025

Esports

The Counter-Strike 2 roster of Team Spirit has officially commenced its preparatory phase for the demanding second half of the 2025 competitive season. A primary focus of this initial training block is the highly anticipated IEM Cologne 2025 tournament.

This confirmation comes directly from the team`s captain, Leonid “chopper” Vishnyakov. In a recent statement, Vishnyakov outlined the team`s approach to ramping up their performance after the mid-season break.

According to chopper, the team began with theoretical sessions. A significant component of this early stage involves integrating and familiarizing the newest member, Ivan “zweih” Gogin, with the team`s strategic frameworks and communication protocols. This phase is now transitioning towards practical training matches, commonly known as “praccs,” allowing the updated lineup to build synergy and test tactics in realistic scenarios.

The immediate competitive target for Team Spirit is IEM Cologne 2025, scheduled for late July. However, the team`s training perspective extends beyond this single event, encompassing preparation for three subsequent tournaments slated to occur consecutively.

Vishnyakov stressed the team`s commitment to intense effort and diligent work to rectify aspects of their gameplay from the previous season. He indicated that the team has conducted a thorough review, identifying key areas requiring improvement. Based on these conclusions, the captain expressed optimism regarding the team`s trajectory and prospects for future performance.

This period of focused practice follows a recent change within the Team Spirit roster. After securing a 5th-8th place finish at the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025, the organization made a personnel adjustment, with Boris “magixx” Vorobyev being moved from the active lineup and zweih stepping in to fill the vacancy.

IEM Cologne 2025 will serve as the crucial debut stage for this refreshed Team Spirit composition. The performance at this prestigious event will provide valuable insights into the effectiveness of the roster change and the fruits of their dedicated training efforts.
