Tottenham Hotspur Monitoring Lyon’s Georges Mikautadze

Football News

According to a recent report from TuttoJuve, Tottenham Hotspur is closely monitoring Olympique Lyonnais forward Georges Mikautadze. Spurs are reportedly considering a transfer swoop for the Georgian forward during the upcoming summer window.

Mikautadze`s Strong Performance in Ligue 1

Mikautadze had a solid season for the French side, delivering several strong performances in the attacking third. The Georgian international scored 17 goals and provided 11 assists in 47 appearances for Lyon across all competitions last term.

The 24-year-old capably led the attack and posted impressive statistics, including an average of 3.23 shots per 90 minutes in Ligue 1. His accuracy was also notable, with 42.3% of his shots hitting the target. Furthermore, Mikautadze showed good ball distribution, completing 76.5% of his passes in the French top flight.

His current contract with Lyon runs until the summer of 2028. Consequently, if Spurs are serious about acquiring the Georgian forward in the upcoming transfer window, they will need to submit a compelling offer.

Should Spurs Pursue Mikautadze?

Mikautadze is skilled at finding space to take shots. He also possesses good vision to create scoring opportunities for his teammates and is a competent dribbler.

The Georgian attacker has demonstrated an ability to both score and set up goals. While primarily a centre-forward, he can also operate on the left wing. Adapting to the Premier League, should he join Spurs this summer, remains a key question.

Mikautadze has the potential to strengthen Tottenham`s attacking options under manager Thomas Frank. He appears to have the qualities needed to secure a regular place in the starting lineup next season.

At 24, Mikautadze is entering his prime years. Consequently, pursuing him this summer could be a sensible move for the North London club, provided the transfer fee is reasonable.
