According to football journalist Fabrizio Romano, Nottingham Forest has reached an agreement with Lyon regarding the transfer of 20-year-old attacker Malick Fofana. However, Forest still needs to finalize personal terms with the player himself.
The young French player reportedly prefers a move to a club competing in the Champions League. Both German giants Bayern Munich and Italian side Napoli have also reportedly made approaches to sign Fofana.
Meanwhile, Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich have been linked with a number of left-sided attacking players throughout the summer transfer window. The most recent player to be rumored is Liverpool`s Luis Díaz. This search follows Leroy Sané`s recent move to Galatasaray and the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the future of Kingsley Coman at the Allianz Arena.
While Bayern`s main target for a left-winger is understood to be Nico Woltemade, Stuttgart`s high valuation of the 23-year-old at €100 million appears to be a significant obstacle. Despite Woltemade being their top priority, Bayern`s management, including Max Eberl, continues to explore other options in the market for a left-sided player. Other wingers linked with a potential move to Bayern Munich this summer include Nico Williams from Athletic Club and Cody Gakpo of Liverpool.
