The transfer of Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid to Orlando City at the end of the current season was officially confirmed earlier this week. The 35-year-old forward, who has consistently voiced his ambition to play in the United States before concluding his career, joins a growing list of prominent players in Major League Soccer, following in the footsteps of stars such as Lionel Messi, Rodrigo De Paul, and Son Heung-min.

Ahead of an upcoming friendly match between France and Brazil in the United States, Real Madrid winger Vinicius Junior was asked for his reaction to Griezmann’s highly anticipated move. According to Diario AS, he was also questioned about his own potential future in MLS.

Vinicius commented, “I believe Griezmann will make a significant contribution to MLS. Regarding myself coming here, I’m not considering it. My focus is entirely on Real Madrid and staying there for a long time.”

Vinicius also provided insights into his current form and shared his perspective on Brazil’s position among the contenders for the upcoming 2026 World Cup.

“I don’t pay much attention to external opinions,” Vinicius stated. “I understand my role and am fully committed to the World Cup, which is where every player aspires to be. Regarding my performance, I always strive to be at my peak.”

He continued, “Based on recent results, I don’t see us as outright favorites. However, the prestige of our national team and the caliber of our players carry significant weight. We simply needed better cohesion, and since Ancelotti’s arrival, we have a clearer understanding of our playing style. This has certainly alleviated a lot of pressure.”

The coming months are crucial for Vinicius Jr. He aims to conclude the season successfully with Real Madrid, which could perfectly position him for a standout performance in the World Cup.
