Yussuf Poulsen’s Salary a Stumbling Block for Hamburg

Bundesliga News

Danish forward Yussuf Poulsen seems close to leaving RB Leipzig. According to reports from Bild, the club is willing to sell the 31-year-old for as little as €2 million, attracting significant interest from Bundesliga returnees Hamburg.

However, Poulsen`s current salary presents a major obstacle for Hamburg. The striker reportedly earns around €7 million annually, including bonuses, at Leipzig with one year left on his contract. Bild indicates that HSV`s maximum offer would be just €1.8 million, a substantial reduction, as they seek a replacement for the departed Davie Selke.

Hamburg`s interest in Poulsen, who is reportedly open to leaving RB Leipzig, is well-known. He would bring considerable top-flight experience. Last season, the Danish international scored five goals in 29 appearances across all competitions for RB Leipzig.
