Barcelona are planning at least 2-3 new signings for Hansi Flick’s squad this summer, but some players are also expected to leave. While names like Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Marc Casado, and Robert Lewandowski have been linked with departures, Roony Bardghji is another player who could be on his way out.
It has been a peculiar season for Bardghji, who joined Barcelona from FC Copenhagen last summer. He has only made 23 appearances, mostly coming off the bench, though he has generally impressed when given the chance. However, with Lamine Yamal ahead of him in the pecking order, securing consistent starting minutes has been a challenge.
Given his limited playing time and public expressions of frustration, Barcelona are reportedly considering allowing him to leave in the summer. Bardghji has already attracted considerable interest, and according to MD (via ED), Juventus are currently the frontrunners to sign him.
FC Porto and AS Monaco are also monitoring the Swedish international. Meanwhile, Real Betis are hoping to leverage their strong relationship with Barcelona to secure a deal if Bardghji becomes available. Los Verdiblancos attempted to sign him last summer and may get their chance in 2026.
Barcelona would need to replace Bardghji if he leaves
It would be logical for Barcelona to part ways with Bardghji this summer, considering his dissatisfaction with his lack of prominence this season. However, they must retain control over his future, given his potential to become a top performer in the coming years.
Nevertheless, letting him go would also represent a risk, as Barcelona would need to find a replacement. Lamine Yamal cannot be expected to play every minute of every match. While Raphinha is a natural right winger, his performances on that flank have not been as impressive as when he plays on the left.
