My Nine Specific Grievances with Crimson Desert

Esports

As a keen observer of the upcoming title, Crimson Desert, I’ve compiled a list of particularly specific, and perhaps even minor, points that have become points of contention for me. These aren’t necessarily game-breaking flaws, but rather the kind of details that, for better or worse, stand out and contribute to my overall perspective on the game’s design and presentation.

One of My Points: Kliff’s Perpetual Lean

Among the various aspects of Crimson Desert that have caught my critical eye, one recurring detail, perhaps surprisingly, involves the character Kliff. Specifically, it’s the persistent image of Kliff leaning against a tree. While this might seem like an insignificant visual choice, it actually encapsulates one of my incredibly specific and rather petty beefs with the game’s approach to character interactions and environmental integration. The frequency and identical nature of this pose, among other similar details, often break immersion or suggest a lack of variety in character idle animations and contextual behaviors. It’s these minor, repeated visual quirks that, when accumulated, start to detract from the otherwise grand scope of the game.
