In our pre-season analysis, we anticipated Liverpool to claim the league title, with Chelsea emerging as strong contenders. Our predictions also forecasted Brentford and Sunderland’s relegation. However, the actual season’s events have proven to be quite different.
What we predicted:
Mikel Arteta declared the preceding summer as a pivotal period, following Arsenal’s third consecutive runner-up finish in the Premier League. The newly appointed sporting director, Andrea Berta, successfully executed several key signings during his inaugural transfer window. The crucial question for Arsenal fans now is whether the acquisitions of Martín Zubimendi, Christian Nørgaard, Noni Madueke, Viktor Gyökeres, Cristhian Mosquera, and Kepa Arrizabalaga will be enough to propel them to their first championship since the “Invincibles” era of 2004.

Premier League 2025-26 Season Review: Our Predictions Versus Actual Outcomes
As the 2025-26 Premier League season draws to a close, we look back at the bold predictions we made at its outset. We had tabbed Liverpool for the championship, envisioned Chelsea as a formidable force challenging for the title, and unfortunately, foresaw Brentford and Sunderland facing the drop. The reality, as is often the case in football, has delivered a narrative far removed from our initial forecasts.
Our Pre-Season Outlook:
Following a third consecutive second-place finish in the Premier League, Mikel Arteta had promised a “big summer” for Arsenal. His commitment was echoed by the new sporting director, Andrea Berta, who has indeed been active in the transfer market during his first window. The focus now shifts to whether this influx of talent – including Martín Zubimendi, Christian Nørgaard, Noni Madueke, Viktor Gyökeres, Cristhian Mosquera, and Kepa Arrizabalaga – will finally enable the Gunners to clinch their first Premier League title since their legendary “Invincibles” campaign in 2004.
