Real Madrid is gearing up for a busy summer, with the presidential election between Florentino Perez and Enrique Riquelme looming large. Amidst this political maneuvering, the club’s sporting department is actively planning its transfer activities, both in terms of incoming and outgoing players.
Should Florentino Perez retain the presidency, Jose Mourinho is expected to return as manager. Mourinho has reportedly requested 4-6 new signings, prioritizing up to four defenders and two midfielders. To accommodate these new arrivals, several current players are likely to depart. According to Diario AS, five players have been identified as potential departures.
Dani Ceballos is the most likely candidate to leave. The midfielder has expressed a desire to depart for some time, and Real Madrid is willing to sanction a transfer if a suitable offer is received. However, Ceballos’s exit is expected to be the most straightforward, with greater resistance anticipated for other players, including Eduardo Camavinga.
Real Madrid’s conviction in Camavinga has waned, leading to their readiness to let him go in the summer. The primary obstacle, however, is the French midfielder’s strong disinclination to move. With a contract extending until 2029, his representatives have indicated that facilitating his departure will be a difficult task.
Three Other Players Identified for Potential Summer Exits
In addition to Ceballos and Camavinga, Real Madrid has identified three more players who could be on their way out this summer. Fran Garcia is expected to be moved on due to the strong competition at left-back, where he would likely find himself behind Alvaro Carreras and Ferland Mendy. An exit for Gonzalo Garcia will also be pursued, as he is anticipated to have limited playing time next season.
Finally, Franco Mastantuono will be permitted to leave on loan. Real Madrid hopes that he will develop similarly to Endrick Felipe, who is set to return next season and is expected to play a significant role under Mourinho, or whoever is managing the team.
