Despite a concluding 3-1 defeat to Valencia, Barcelona’s 2025-26 La Liga season was a resounding success, marked by their domestic double including the league title and the Spanish Super Cup. Under the guidance of Hansi Flick, the Catalan club has demonstrated consistent dominance since his arrival two years ago.
This season has been particularly remarkable for three Barcelona players who have been recognized with individual accolades. Goalkeeper Joan Garcia has secured the Zamora Trophy for the 2025-26 season. His exceptional performance saw him concede the fewest goals in La Liga, with an impressive average of 0.7 goals per game, having let in only 21 goals over 30 matches. This average was sufficient to edge out Real Madrid’s Thibaut Courtois, who finished with a conceding average of 0.88.
Lamine Yamal and Ferran Torres share goalscoring honor
The attacking talents of Lamine Yamal and Ferran Torres have also been acknowledged. The duo will jointly receive the Zarra Trophy, an award presented to the Spanish player with the most goals in a La Liga season. Both players netted 16 goals, finishing one goal ahead of their national teammate Mikel Oyarzabal. While not officially confirmed, this achievement is highly likely, with Villarreal’s Alberto Moleiro needing to score at least seven goals in his upcoming match against Atletico Madrid to challenge this record.
All three recognized players will be aiming for further international success this summer at the 2026 World Cup in North America. Lamine Yamal and Ferran Torres are expected to be key figures in Luis de la Fuente’s Spanish squad. Meanwhile, Joan Garcia is in contention for the final goalkeeper spot, competing with Alex Remiro of Real Sociedad for a place alongside Unai Simon and David Raya.
