Barcelona set clear conditions for Joao Cancelo signing

Barcelona is looking to strengthen their squad this summer with new acquisitions and needs to make decisions on current loan players, including Joao Cancelo and Marcus Rashford. While Rashford is likely to return to Manchester United, Barcelona is keen to keep Cancelo at the Spotify Camp Nou.

Since rejoining Barcelona in January, Cancelo has been an influential player, making the left-back position his own with significant contributions in both attack and defense during his 19 appearances across all competitions. This has led Hansi Flick to desire his permanent stay.

However, securing Cancelo permanently presents a challenge. According to reports, Al Hilal is demanding at least €10 million for a deal, a figure significantly higher than what Barcelona is prepared to offer.

Barcelona has informed Cancelo and his representatives that they will not pay a transfer fee. Therefore, his re-signing is contingent on him successfully terminating his contract with Al Hilal upon his return to the Saudi Pro League club at the end of the season.

Barcelona and Cancelo have already agreed contract terms

Cancelo has expressed his desire to remain at Barcelona next season, making it imperative for him and his representatives to reach an agreement with Al Hilal after the current season concludes. Regarding personal terms, he has already agreed to contract details with the La Liga leaders, which would be for two years, potentially with an additional 12-month option.

It remains to be seen if Barcelona can finalize Cancelo’s permanent move this summer, but it would be a significant acquisition for the club.
