Endrick Felipe Opens Up About Challenges at Real Madrid, Highlighting Difficulties for Any Player

Football

Endrick Felipe’s season has been marked by a clear contrast. After a challenging initial period at Real Madrid, his form significantly improved following his winter transfer window loan move to Lyon, where he has since become a standout performer.

In an interview with WinWin (reported by Marca), Endrick elaborated on the differing circumstances at Real Madrid and Lyon. He also shed light on the factors that led him to join the Ligue 1 club, despite their recent exit from the Europa League against Celta Vigo on Thursday.

“Consistent playing time is crucial,” Endrick stated. “There’s a significant difference between playing for 60 or 90 minutes and only getting 15 or 30. More minutes allow you to experiment and lessen the pressure associated with potential errors. Before my decision, both the sporting director and Paulo Fonseca spoke with me extensively, instilling a great deal of confidence. I understood I would gain more opportunities, though these would come with high expectations.”

Endrick: Navigating the Pressures of Real Madrid

With his return to Real Madrid slated for the summer, Endrick expressed his hope for a more prominent role. He reflected on his initial eighteen months at the Bernabéu, also mentioning that he has not yet had the opportunity to speak with the new head coach, Alvaro Arbeloa.

“We haven’t communicated yet,” he commented. “My current focus is entirely on Lyon. While I’ll be supporting Real Madrid in the Champions League, my dedication right now is here. Real Madrid is the most successful club globally. It’s challenging for any player, whether young or experienced, to establish themselves there. They constantly seek out new talent, and fans naturally want to see immediate results, but that’s not always feasible.”

Endrick Appreciates Carlo Ancelotti’s Guidance

Endrick also discussed his relationship with Carlo Ancelotti, having worked under him at Real Madrid and continuing to do so now that Ancelotti coaches the Brazilian national team.

“I gained significant knowledge from him during my time at Real Madrid,” Endrick shared. “I managed to score in every competition we participated in together. Although our current work is different, without the daily interactions, I’m confident we will achieve positive outcomes together.”
