Real Madrid’s Fede Valverde is unlikely to play again this season after suffering head trauma. The injury occurred during a training session altercation with teammate Aurelien Tchouameni.
Reports indicate that after being provoked by Valverde, Tchouameni struck him. Valverde stumbled and fell, hitting his head on a table. While the fall caused a laceration, there are also claims that Valverde experienced dizziness and a brief loss of consciousness. He was subsequently taken to the hospital in a wheelchair for stitches.
Valverde’s Absence Due to Head Trauma
According to Marca, Valverde’s head trauma injury requires a recovery period of 10 to 14 days. This means he will miss crucial upcoming matches, including the clash against Barcelona, a home game against Real Oviedo, and an away fixture against Sevilla. He might be available for the season’s final game against Athletic Club at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Potential Suspension for Valverde and Tchouameni
Prior to the injury news becoming public, Real Madrid announced they had initiated disciplinary proceedings against both Valverde and Tchouameni. They face potential sanctions ranging from a 3 to 20-game ban, along with salary deductions, depending on the investigation’s outcome. A serious infraction could result in a 3-10 game suspension, while a very serious one could lead to an 11-20 game ban.
It is probable that neither player will feature again this season, contingent on the swiftness of the disciplinary process. While a season-ending suspension seems plausible, a dismissal from the club is considered unlikely. However, there is speculation that one of them might be sold this summer as a consequence of this incident.
